For too long, our political leaders have ignored what we as nurses and health-care professionals have experienced firsthand: violence in our workplaces is on the rise and we need a national strategy to address it because the avoidable injuries we've seen here are happening to our colleagues in every other part of the country.

To make sure this election issue can't be ignored, join us for a round table discussion on violence prevention in the same electoral district as one of our most affected workplaces, Southlake Regional Health Centre.

In addition to the main political parties' candidates who will be on the ballot in the riding of Newmarket-Aurora, you'll hear from ONA leaders who are working tirelessly to ensure our members are protected: Andy Summers, RN, ONA vice-president for this region; DJ Sanderson, RN, the ONA bargaining unit president and local coordinator for Southlake; and Faye Loverock, RN, ONA local coordinator for Michael Garron Hospital in Toronto.

Please RSVP now for our second roundtable session starting at 6:30 p.m.

Will you come?
